On Your Mark, Get Set, Direnzo DRZ_03 Eclipse

I don’t want you to tell me that you were not warned, Direnzo is about to go live with a new model, the DRZ_03 Eclipse. Our regular readers know that I’m a huge fan of Sergio Godoy Di Renzo’s creations, you can find my reviews of his debut model, the DRZ_TYPE_250F and the DRZ_02 that followed, to understand my excitement about this new watch.

With the DRZ-03, Sergio is taking iconic dive watches from the past, such as the Breguet ref. 1646, the Omega Seamaster 300 or the Jaeger LeCoultre Deep Sea and he adds his original signature, creating something new, a watch with a contemporary design with deep roots in the past. He has a very strong visual identity, a unique signature that he developed with the previous two models.

The main theme is the solar eclipse that is clearly visible on the dial that was built in two parts, an inner matt disc and a sunburst fumé outer circle.

A third colour option is also under consideration, it will depend on how well the project is received.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
