The 2014 Alpiner Collection by Alpina

Alpiner Chronograph

Alpiner Chronograph

This week Alpina has announced the Alpiner collection, inspired by the Alpiner automatic models from the 1950’s.

The combination of the “glass box” sapphire crystal, which today substitutes the hesalite version of the past century, and the dome shaped sunray finish dial with a clear cut case and lugs, give the Alpiner watches their unique classic, yet contemporary look. The 3-link bracelet contributes further to this unique combination of elegance and performance.

The back of the 41.5mm case features the engraving of the iconic Alpina “3 summits” symbol, representing the Jungfrau, the Monch and the Eiger. The Alpine brand signature since 1883.

Alpiner Automatic Chronograph (AL-750)

Engineered with the same principles and designed with the same codes as the Alpiner Automatic, the Alpiner Automatic Chronograph encases the AL-750 chronograph movement and features a telemeter scale on the dial for time-distance calculations. The Alpiner Automatic Chronograph comes in 4 dial variants: silvered, silvered with grey “eyes”, black and grey with rose gold coloured indexes and numerals. To the 41.5mm stainless steel case both a genuine leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet can be matched.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
