Drinks and watches game

And now something completely different…

Lat’s take it easy and play a game, a grown-ups game with simple rules: you have to love watches and you have to know how to enjoy bacchanalian pleasures. It’s simple, we start with a list of drinks and associate them to watches.

To get the ball rolling, I came with a list of seven drinks that I forwarded to my friends TimeCaptain and FormulaTime. You’ll find bellow their choices, as well as my selections. As you will see, in some of the case we agree, but usually we have totally different suggestions.

1. Beer

IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG Black Ceramic

TimeCaptain’s pick for beer is IWC, because it’s masculine. In this picture, you have the IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG Black Ceramic © IWC

TAG Heuer Carrera Quartz

FormulaTime think that a TAG quartz would go well with beer. In the photo you have a TAG Heuer Carrera Quartz.

Ball Engineer Master II Aviator

For me beer is something that you enjoy with friends in a pub or at home after a day of hard work. For this you need a tool watch, so I immediately taught of Ball. Photo: Ball Engineer Master II Aviator

2. Scotch

Bremont U2

For TimeCaptain scotch would go well with a Bremont. Photo: Bremont U2

Baume & Mercier Clifton 10060 dial and back

TB Victory from Arnold & Son

For scotch I’de suggest an Arnold & Son. Photo: TB Victory from Arnold & Son.

3. Champagne

Patek Philippe Calatrava

Champaign is a festive drink, so TimeCaptain picks Patek Philippe. Photo: Patek Philippe Calatrava

Rolex Datejust II

FormulaTime picks Rolex Datejust II

CORUM - Golden Bridge Lady

You can best enjoy a champaign with a lady, so I vote for CORUM – Golden Bridge Lady

4. Gin

Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Submariner, 660 ft=200 m.

Montblanc ExoTourbillon Rattrapante

FormulaTime skipped gin. For me, it would go well with the new Montblanc ExoTourbillon Rattrapante

5. Sake

Grande Seiko SBGH001

This was easy, we all agreed on Seiko and TimeCaptain even specified it to be a Grande Seiko

6. Vodka

A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar watch

TimeCaptain would go with an A. Lange & Söhne. In this picture you have the award winning 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar

Hublot Big Bang Bode Miller

I agree with FormulaTime, vodka goes well with Hublot. Photo: Hublot Big Bang Bode Miller

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
