This week, the German tool-watch powerhouse Sinn Spezialuhren, has introduced two new diver watches made of bead-blasted high strength titanium, and matt-blue electroplated dials.

As with the previous models, the T1 and T2, the T1 B has a diameter of 45 mm and it is water resistant to 100 bar (1,000 meters), and the T2 B is smaller, with a diameter of 41 mm, but it has a higher pressure resistance of 200 bar (2,000 meters). Both models are equipped with Captive Safety Bezel, designed to prevent accidental rotation of the bezel. To adjust the set time, one has to press down the bezel using two fingers to unlock it, and then rotate it counter clockwise to the desired set time. We also have to mention that the bezel is treated with TEGIMENT, a special surface hardening technology developed by Sinn to protect it from scratches.

The B stands for “blau” (blue), because of the blue dials, as opposed to the original T1 and T2 that come with a black dial. Just as on the previous models, reading the time is easy under any conditions, as both watches feature colour-differentiated luminous paint for the minute hand and key mark on the bezel for clear reading of set time. To ensure that this is also possible in the dark or in adverse viewing conditions, the T1 also features colour-differentiated luminous paint for the arrow-shaped minute hand and key mark on the bezel for clear reading of set time.

Both watches use sapphire crystal on the front and solid case backs, and they are powered by Soprod A10-2 automatic caliber. Ar-Dehumidifying technology, that solves two problems caused by humidity: it prevents the crystal from fogging up, even when faced with sudden temperature changes and it protects the oils from premature aging caused by moisture.

These diving tools were built to operate in a reliable manner from − 45 °C up to + 80 °C. Their suitability as diving watches for professional use was verified by the classification company DNV GL, according to EN250 and EN14143, the European standards for diving equipments.

Here is North America, you can order them WatchBuys, they are the official retail partners of Sinn for US and Canada.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
