Akrivia is a young Geneva based watch brand founded by master watchmaker Rexhep Rexhepi with the goal to unite the heritage of the Geneva watchmaking tradition with a modern, 21st century approach.

His first creation is the Tourbillon Monopusher Chronograph, a ticking proof of his mastery. He brings together a tourbillon escapement with a more rare variety of chronograph called a “monopusher”. Developed in the 19th century, the “monopusher” remains to these days the easiest chronograph type to use. It uses a single push button to start, stop and reset the chronograph.

As Rexhep would put it:

This combination of tourbillon and monopusher chronograph is very inspiring for me in the way it combines complications in an elegant manner for a contemporary watch design. I see no reason why a watch cannot be useful, as well as high-end and elegant!

To bring more joy to those that handle these pieces, the chronograph mechanism is built up on the dial side, leaving some moving parts visible when the chronograph is activated.

Most of the parts being developed and hand-crafted by Akrivia, the price is in the six figures.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
