Vacheron Constantin opens first Canadian boutique

Vacheron Constantin boutique at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

For a long time, it seemed that high-end watchmakers — with a few exceptions — would not pay too much attention to Canada, focusing instead on Asia, Europe and the US. Maybe because of the drop in tourism in Europe that left its mark on the luxury industry, maybe brands are just catching up but now we see this tendency changing, with more and more luxury watchmakers opening mono-brand boutiques throughout Canada. Vacheron Constantin is the latest to open its first boutique in Canada at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

Vacheron Constantin does not need an introduction, their watches are of the highest quality, the finest examples of horological excellence, all bearing the Geneva Seal. The Canadian boutique will have the manufacture’s entire range of watches and of course, the boutique-exclusive models.

Those shopping at the boutique can also benefit from the Ateliers Cabinotiers service, a highly exclusive bespoke service that allows the client to entirely customise his or her timepiece through a collaboration with Vacheron Constantin.

“Our first Canadian store marks an important step in our Maison’s expansion in North America,” said Leslie Kobrin, Vacheron Constantin President of the Americas. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to serve Canadians with a boutique in the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Canada’s leading shopping destination with over 270 fashion, technology and luxury brands, and best-in-class services. Our location, strategically situated in Yorkdale, will enhance our client’s understanding of Vacheron Constantin, its heritage, and its commitment to excellence in high watchmaking.”

The new boutique will welcome you in a 700 square feet dream shopping temple, with blend of modern and classic architectural and decorative elements, such as the two custom-made black Murano Venetian crystal chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling warm oak panelling with inset shadow boxes, glass showcases and walls finished in fine Venetian plaster.

“This location features our most directional store design concepts to date including architectural elements specifically incorporated to draw clients in, as well as a curated selection of merchandise and unique services that we hope Torontonians will love,” said Leslie Kobrin, Vacheron Constantin President of the Americas.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
