Introducing Florijn Watches

Florijn Een

Florijn Een

Here comes from Netherlands, Florijn Watches, a new brand launched just before Christmas by Hans Heuvelman, a passionate watch lover. The name comes from the first guilder (in Dutch gulden, meaning ‘golden’) which was called FLORIJN. With this name, Hans wanted to pay homage to all the great things about the Netherlands: the landscape, the architecture, dikes, dams as well as the tradition of tolerance, salesmanship and conviviality.

Florijn Watches debut collection: the Een, the Twee and the Drie

Florijn’s debut collection consists of three pieces, the all stainless steel Een, the steel Twee that has a black DLC bezel and finally, the all black coated Drie. With a diameter of 45 mm, lug to lug 53 mm and the height of 14,1 mm, the proportions a rather bold.

The black dial is highly visible thanks to the strong contrast with the bold white indexes and hands that are also coated with luminous paint. The date at six o’clock is visible under a magnifier, while the rotating bezel featuring a 12-hour marking can be set to show a second timezone.

Sapphire crystal on the front and engraved stainless steel back, the case is water resistant to 300 meters. Powered by the automatic Seiko NH 35, every Florijn watch will come with a rubber strap and a leather strap, as well as a tool to change the straps.

Limited at 100 pieces each, Florijn Watches will cost €395 for the stainless steel or €425 for the full black DLC version.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
