New Models Added to U-Boat Classico Series

U-Boat’s Classico Series has become a flagship for the Italian manufacturer. The simple, bold design of these watches – not to mention the large 53mm size –  have become iconic for the brand’s image. Now, U-Boat adds some exciting new models to this collection. Some are simple modifications like the Classico chronographs, but others, like the U-1001, re-invent the entire look and feel of the watches.

The most anticipated model to be added into the Classico collection is probably the Classico CAS Chronograph. This watch is equipped with the Swiss automatic 7750 chronograph calibre that could previously only be had with the Flighdeck watches. Apart from adding to the watch’s function and reinforcing the military instrument-like style of the watch, the Swiss automatic chrono movement also adds to the value. Those of us watch enthusiasts who can never get enough of chronographs can rejoice in the fact that the Classico chronographs will be substantially less expensive then the Flightdecks.

Next on the list of new Classico models is U-Boat’s Classico U-1001, whose name is derived from its water resistance rating of 1000 meters. The watch is hard to miss as it is a giant at 55mm in diameter. The case is made of high-grade titanium, which is extremely strong and light, adding to the U-1001’s muscle and comfort. What many people like most about titanium, however, is its smoky, grey hue. The U-1001 is available with three different dial variations sporting beige, blue, or orange hour markers and hands. These watches completely re-invent the style of the U-Boat Classico watches and they are a must-see for lovers of large timepieces.

Aside from these, several other designs have been added to the collection including two carbon fiber-clad or “Carbonio” models and two limited production watches made out of sterling silver dubbed the A925 and CA925.

We have been showing the official, working prototypes of these watches in the store during most of the summer and the response has been great. The U-Boat Classico Chronographs will be a great alternative to the popular base Classicos and the U-1001 are turning many heads. U-Boat’s continuously manages to create interesting and successful new models and backs them up with great service. I am certain that we have yet to see the Italian manufacturer’s full potential!
