Introducing Viqueria – Italian Watch Co.

Roma, the debut collection of Viqueria, an Italian microbrand.

Viqueria is a new Italian microbrand that will do later this year a Kickstarter fundraising for their debut collection, called Roma. Behind Viqueria, we find two friends and business partners, Nicolò Debenedictis and Omar Dimauro, who also founded 2DStraps in 2012. They make high-end straps using Italian leather and they now want to do more, start an Italian watch company and this is how the idea of Viqueria was born.

Their debut collection, Roma is inspired by the Ancient Rome, with… Roman numerals, hands shaped like Roman swords, three colour choices of sunray finished dial, in a 40 mm stainless steel case and powered by an automatic Miyota 8217 with a 24-hour counter at 9 o’clock. All versions have lumed index markers, red main second hand and red small-second hand. Each watch is matched with genuine Italian leather straps made by, you guessed it, 2DStraps.

The Kickstarter starting price of Roma is US$289, $100 less than the full retail price.

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
