The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie Debuts the Watch@Tablet at JCK

NEW YORK, NY May 11, 2009 For the first time, the FHH will take the opportunity to promote fine watchmaking in the US at the JCK show (Las Vegas, May 30th to June 2nd, 2009). Its goal is to use the opportunity at the prestigious watch and jewelry trade show to launch the innovative Watch@Tablet® program and inform the industry about the FHH efforts to end global counterfeiting of timepieces.

Established in 2005 in Geneva, Switzerland, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH)* exists first and foremost to foster and promote the culture and expertise of Fine Watchmaking around the world. The Foundation’s primary objectives are to inform all those with an interest in watches and arouse interest in watchmaking. While trying to inspire vocations in watchmaking, the FHH acts as a think tank for the industry and provides training for fine watchmaking professionals.

Another important initiative of the FHH is the launch of its international anti-counterfeiting campaign. Their objective is to inform the public on the damage caused by this global scourge. During JCK, FHH will reveal its research on the effects of illegal counterfeiting on the worldwide economy.

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie has implemented a number of major actions over recent months and is pleased to announce its first innovative tool dedicated to the Fine watch-making sales associates: the Watch@Tablet®, which will be premiered at the JCK Show.

What is the Watch@Tablet®?

As part of its vocation to train Fine Watch professionals, the FHH has developed a ground-breaking training tool to provide training and information at the point of sales. (multibrands or monobrand) The Watch@Tablet® was created by the FHH and set to become the essential resource for fine watch sales associates. This extra-thin touchscreen note book PC, installed with interactive animations provides information and advice on demand such as, brand history, catalogs of product, pricing, technical developments in watchmaking, event listings, etc.

Through this specific activity, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie confirms its position and vocation to defend the values of an industry built on tradition, expertise and innovation.

Demonstrations of the Watch@Tablet® for both the retailers and press will take place

Saturday, May 30th (for the retailers) and Sunday May 31st (for the press).

FHH is part of the 2009 Swiss Watch Event by JCK. Each year, the event hosts the most respected watch manufacturers and the most exclusive retailers in the business. The appointment only event takes place at The Venetian suites provides the retailers a private setting to view the latest product launches in a personal environment. As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
