OMEGA and Clooney – ready for spring!



Monday 23 February 2009 – Swiss watchmaker OMEGA is launching a new advertising campaign around an image of its popular brand ambassador George Clooney.

Clooney, wearing a lightweight white suit with a pale-blue open-collared shirt, assumes a relaxed pose against a tall tree, with an OMEGA watch clearly visible on his wrist. In the foreground of the picture is an OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra in 18 Ct red gold with a brown alligator strap. Other than the company’s name and logo, the advertisement’s text is limited to three words: “GEORGE CLOONEY’S CHOICE”.

Particularly sharp-eyed observers will notice that in the photograph, George Clooney is wearing a different OMEGA watch – an OMEGA Speedmaster Professional, another of George’s choices and the watch which established its status as a true legend forty years ago when, on the 21st of July, 1969, it became the first watch to be worn on the Moon.

The advertisement is perfectly timed as winter gives way to spring: “the world’s sexiest man” is tanned and dressed for warmer weather. George Clooney reminds us that even the harshest months eventually come to an end.
