Press release, Basel 2009 – The latest variation of the Lady Serenade Chronograph is a picture of suppleness with its cool, shining, patented stainless steel bracelet that feels especially pleasant on the wrist. Its satin-finished, polished links take their cue from the feminine curves of the case, allowing the sporty timepiece to emerge as a perfectly formed whole.

The 38 mm polished stainless steel case is framed by a bezel ringed with 54 TW-if brilliant-cut diamonds (total weight approx. 1.17 ct), adding a touch of luxury to the Lady Serenade Chronograph. The sunburst decoration creates magnificently lustrous reflections on the black galvanized dial. Polished Roman numerals mark the 12 and 6 o’clock positions on the dial, while applied stainless steel markers illustrate the divisions of the other hours. Shining silver threads surround the minute counter at 9 o’clock and the running subsidiary seconds at 3 o’clock, highlighting them clearly on the dial. The crown is consciously playful, embellished as it is with a brilliant-cut diamond.

The scratch proof sapphire crystal case back allows an unobstructed view of the inner workings of this light and airy chronograph. Manufacture Caliber 39-34, with a power reserve of 40 hours, ensures precise time measurement. Outfitted with all the traditional elements belonging to Glashütte’s art of watchmaking such as a swan-neck fine adjustment, a three-quarter plate, Glashütte ribbing and double sunburst decorations, this movement once again reveals the depth of Glashütte Original’s horological know-how.

The Lady Serenade Collection was unveiled by the Glashütte Original manufactory in 2007. In creating the collection, designers wanted to capture the sensitivity of women and enter into their emotional world. Model variations of these new timepieces are expressions of feminine elegance that match any wardrobe: from casual and sporty through formal business dress and all the way to stylish eveningwear.

Glashütte Original represents a living, authentic manufactory, high exclusivity, traditional watchmaking since 1845, exclusive mechanical masterpieces, and “handmade in Germany.”

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
