Pita Barcelona Molinos Orbital Classic Edition

Pita Barcelona Molinos Orbital Classic Edition

Not everyone wants to go with the crowd, some of us we can’t care less to fit in, we want to be different because we are not afraid to think outside the box. Mainstream watches won’t satisfy us, every other clueless Joe is flashing the same watch, we need to have something different! Luckily, we have independent watchmakers to satisfy our desire for high-end watches that go with our personality. One of them is the Catalan master watchmaker and AHCI Member, Aniceto Jiménez Pita, founder of Pita Barcelona. For him, being an independent watchmaker it means creative freedom and customization to a higher extent. On his website that also serves as an online boutique, you have a plethora of choices to customize a Pita Barcelona, to make it truly yours.

Pita Barcelona Molinos Orbital Classic Edition

His latest creation, the Molinos Orbital Classic Edition  (Orbital Mills) is an exceptional example of contemporary watchmaking, a timepiece without hands and without a crown, displaying the time with three giant planetary floating gears. I wanted to make sure that I got it right, so I asked Daniel Jiménez, the CEO of Pita Barcelona, how to read the time on the Molinos Orbital. The bigger gear shows the minutes, and the central smaller gear shows the hours, at a closer look you will notice that both gears have a small index to indicate the time.

Pre-orders for the Molinos Orbital will start on July 12 at www.pita.es for €7,750 (possibility of 12 instalments of €645.83 at 0% interest).

As a graphic designer, I'm fascinated by the crossroads between technology and aesthetics. Horology is one of these crafts, where art and engineering come together to produce mechanical wonders that grace the eye. WatchPaper was born from the desire to create an online tool where I can share my passion for watches.
