CORUM links its name to the world’s most important regatta on an inland lake by becoming Presenting Sponsor of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, which will commence on June 12. Reaffirming its commitment to sailing, CORUM is continuing its history and expanding its presence in the sailing sponsorship arena.

The Bol d’Or Mirabaud, currently in its 72nd year, is unlike any other regatta in the world. The legendary race is a place where sailing stars are mixed with non-professional sailors, and the event is the pride of the Lake Geneva region and delights sailing enthusiasts.

Organized for the first time in 1939, this large nautical festival has become one of the greatest classics of the international regatta calendar. Each year, nearly six hundred sailboats and champions from all over Europe meet at the starting line, in the company of more than 3,000 participants from all backgrounds, having their passion for sailing in common.

CORUM is very pleased to be associated with this major event. This partnership is completely consistent with existing partnerships and is in line with the brand’s primary goal which is to create long-term value.

The Bol d’Or has indeed become one of the favorite venues of the Okalys-Corum team who won the regatta twice in the past five years (in 2005 and 2007). It is also to be noted that at the time of these two victories, the skipper alongside Nicolas Grange was Loïck Peyron, CORUM’s new ambassador. With his breathtaking list of accomplishments, the Frenchman, who is regarded as one of the greatest sailors, keeps a unique memory of his past participation in this regatta: « To win the lake’s most popular regatta is quite an achievement. Before I used to follow it from a distance, but in 2005 when we won it for the first time, Nicolas Grange presented us with a small replica of the highly coveted trophy. It still takes pride of place on my desk.»

This new partnership is strengthening the brand’s ties not only to amazing sailors such as Ben Ainslie and Loïck Peyron but also to prestigious sailing events such as the Grand Prix Corum, which this year will be the final race in the Challenge Julius Baer, taking place on September 17, 18 and 19.

In order to celebrate this partnership, CORUM will launch a limited edition “Admiral’s Cup Chronograph 48 Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2010 “ of 35 pieces. The special edition of the brand’s iconic model famous for its dodecagonal bezel and a dial decorated with nautical pennants, will play with the colors of the regatta which are Blue and Gold. The model will symbolize the partnership by becoming the official watch of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud and one of these limited edition timepieces will be presented to the winning team of the Bol d’Or and the Bol de Vermeil.

Michel Glaus, Antonio Calce and Antonio Palma Photo: Marc Ninghetto

CORUM CEO Antonio Calce said:
« The rebirth of the CORUM brand, which has expressed itself by returning to its roots, has naturally brought us to support the sailing world to which we have always had a strong connection. I am proud to associate CORUM with the historical regatta of the Bol d’Or. Today we build our future in continuity as in 1994, the Corum boat that participated in the 56th edition of the Bol d’Or won the monohull class competition and still holds the record in this category (Bol d’Or Vermeil). We therefore are looking forward to participating in this great adventure of which values cherished by CORUM, such as authenticity and passion, are also the key words of the event. »

Managing Partner and Member of the Executive Committee of Mirabaud, Antonio Palma, added:
« Every year we look forward to the unique event that is the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. At the 72nd regatta, we are pleased to welcome CORUM by our side as presenting sponsor. We anticipate that the future of this collaboration will bring great rewards to all parties during one of the most important sporting events in Geneva. »

Bol d’Or Mirabaud Organization Committee President, Michel Glaus, said:
« As the world’s most important regatta on an inland lake, the Bol d’Or has always been able to count on very prestigious partners. The 2010 regatta will not be an exception as the Bol d’Or Mirabaud is pleased to welcome CORUM as the new “presenting sponsor”, alongside our title sponsor, Mirabaud private bank. We look forward to our future collaboration with this renowned watchmaking company, long known for its strong identification with the world of international sailing.»

While passion, determination and innovation are associated with CORUM’s image today, it is mainly shared values that are at the heart of this partnership. The magnificent adventure will take place June 11-13, 2010.

CORUM

Over the past few years, CORUM has undergone a complete transformation that has enabled it to achieve a perfect match between the products and the demands for quality and creativity that are the very foundations of its credibility. Its firmly upscale move is a logical result of the brand’s efforts to recapture its historical standing while significantly reinforcing its horological substance. CORUM’s substantial investments have led to the integration of watchmaking skills, the development of production tools, the enhancement of human resources and the promotion of staff training. The result is a brand once again entirely in tune with its genetic heritage.

Positioned as an exclusive brand, CORUM offers high-quality watch collections featuring innovative and distinctive design, and equipped with sophisticated mechanical movements. Its 150 current models, spread between four key pillars – Admiral’s Cup, Romvlvs, Corum Bridges and Artisans – enjoy a legitimacy rooted in the brand history. The full set of collections comprises models at prices ranging from 5,000 to 1 million Swiss francs and giving pride of place to precious metals and horological complications.

In 1960, the first interpretation of the Admiral’s Cup model paved the way for CORUM’s success. This model remains thanks to its history, which is inextricably bound up with major sailing competitions and prestigious sailors, as well as for its inimitable esthetic based on a twelve-sided case and a dial set off by twelve nautical pennants. These are its distinctive and unmistakable identifying characteristics.

THE BOL D’OR MIRABAUD

The racecourse is as simple as it can get: Genève – Le Bouveret – Genève. There is only one mark on the course, halfway through the race (at Le Bouveret).

The real time winner of the Genève-Le Bouveret-Genève race wins the Bol d’Or Challenge, which is presented each year, however if it is won three times in the previous five years by the same owner, it can be kept by the winner indefinitely. Only three boats have achieved this in over 70 years of the regatta: the Marie-José II owned by Horace Julliard (1961, 1962 and 1963), the Altaïr IX owned by Philippe Stern (1980, 1982 and 1984) and Ernesto Bertarelli’s Alinghi (1997, 2000 and 2001).

The Bol de Vermeil Trophy rewards exclusively the first monohull to cross the finishing line. As for the Bol d’Or Challenge, it has to be won three times in five years to be awarded indefinitely.

This is with “Happy Birthday” by the Beatles that the conference began. Major event, the Basel Fair is a unique opportunity to meet during 10 days all our partners and the international press.

A landmark event for Corum that celebrates in 2010 the anniversary of two of its main pillars: Admiral’s Cup and Corum Bridges.

DISTRIBUTION

With the take-over of the U.S. market in October 2009, the opening of its first boutique in own name on December 25, 2009 in Hong Kong and the reorganization of its market in South America and the Caribbean in early 2010, Corum has reaffirmed its presence around the world and strengthen its strategy of selective distribution.

COMMUNICATION

2010, an intense year as Antonio Calce, Corum CEO, also confirmed the signature of two new partnerships, one with a new ambassador and the second with a sailing event. Today Corum built partnerships in line with its values and history. If the ambassadors of Corum are distinguished by their sporting qualities, they are also friends of the brand whose human qualities prevail. To top off the press conference, the new website of the brand has been unveiled in a preview. A virtual showcase that takes you to visit the know-how of the brand, to discover our human capital and our history.

Opened on Christmas day in the Central District, the CORUM boutique is the first flagship store of the brand. Representing 40% of Corum’s turnover, the Far East market has grown quickly by double digit yearly increases since 2007. Hong Kong has thus become the place to be and a key market for the brand. A strategic opening that crowns a strong distribution network of 17 POS in Hong Kong.

For several years, CORUM has been a privileged partner of Swiss Prestige, one of the major partners for fine watches in Hong Kong & China. Convinced by the tremendous potential of the Asian market, CORUM has strengthened its retailers’ network in Asia opening 3 new POS in 2009 and plans to open between 5 and 10 new addresses in 2010 in the 4 major areas of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzen and in major cities of Harbin, Changchun, Hangzhou, Kunming, Shenyiang.

At the end of 2009, the two partners merged their skills and strengths to open the first CORUM boutique in Hong Kong. A very strong message given by the two partners, a snub to the economic downturn, and reflecting the increasing attractiveness of CORUM in the market.

Located on one of the finest streets in the world, CORUM has selected the Mecca of Asian prosperity to host its brand showcase. Situated close to the famous area of LankwaiFong, the boutique sits among the most prestigious addresses & prime financial area in Central, which is the heart of the business district.
Asian Market

In Macao, the brand will open its second point of sale at Europe (1 Central Mall). Macao has become the place to be as Chinese visitors have selected it as the preferred location for their shopping activities.

In Hong Kong, Corum will relocate some of its points of sale to enhance its visibility by being showcased in more prominent areas. The brand wants to strengthen its presence as 80% to 90% of the business is generated by Chinese clients. To ensure our brand visibility and to respond to growing market demand, we will reinforce our presence with 5 to 10 new POS in 2010.

Corum has gained tremendous visibility in the past few years by benefiting from retailers large corner exhibition areas ranging from 12 to 18 m2.

“All the good and beautiful things achieved by Men were built by their dreams..”
Bernard Moitessier, French navigator, La Longue Route

After having taken over the Latin American & Caribbean market in February 2009, Montres CORUM Sàrl now announces the new organization of an area with tremendous untapped growth potential. In order to give the market all the attention it deserves, Antonio Calce, Corum CEO, appointed Laurent Peccavé as Regional Manager for the Caribbean & Latin America in October 2009.

Corum continues its know-how and skills integration and its distribution network management strategy in order to reinforce its presence in its key markets. A strategy that is being implemented with a regional manager working directly in the market with local agents. In order to meet the need for strong market growth, Corum has decided to handle directly the Latin American market. Managed by Corum HQ located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, the Latin American market is under the responsibility of Laurent Peccavé, appointed Corum Regional Brand Manager.

Founded in 1955, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Corum displayed a determination to position itself in the forefront of the Swiss watch industry. Ever since, the brand’s primary objective has been to create long-term value. As an independent brand, Corum has focused on integrating the trades by promoting verticalization of its expertise, and has used this principle to guide its investments. The brand has endowed itself with the resources to do this by becoming the prime contractor for its movements and by handling the key stages of their creation and production.

Since 2005, Corum has been headed by brand CEO Antonio Calce. A firmly product-oriented, entrepreneurial and unifying figure, Antonio Calce is pursuing the long-term implementation of the product strategy initiated in 2005 and based on four key collections that have become the four pillars of the brand’s development. By highlighting its historical legitimacy and propelling the product to centre-stage, CORUM is enjoying strong sales growth.

Corum Building in La Chaux-de-Fonds

In 2010, CORUM is celebrating three major anniversaries with the 55th anniversary of the brand’s creation, the half-century of the Admiral’s Cup collection and the 30th anniversary of the Golden Bridge. The time for Corum to celebrate its watchmaking legitimacy and pioneering spirit. A time to UNLOCK & CONQUER. At Baselworld, Corum will launch a 2010 collection displaying jubilee models that will pay tribute to creativity, and sophisticated technical and horological content.

If we focus on the following five countries (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela), and according to the FHS statistics, they accounted for 3% of worldwide watch exports in 2009, equivalent to 300 million Swiss francs. Incidentally, those five countries grew by 7.5% between 2007 and 2008.

For Corum, they constitute a promising area which will be a focus of attention for the brand and the countries we must be in to achieve an orchestrated winning back.

With ten sales outlets in the Mexican market, Corum is relying on its 20year brand presence and strong brand awareness to swiftly develop and assert its business. A first goal that will be achieved as a duo with one of the best agents in this area.

In Brazil, Corum must regain new sales outlets and will thus deploy its reconquest strategy by winning over the major players in this sector. With strong demand in the market, Corum must find the retailers that will become its reliable spokespersons.

Regarding Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela and other top Latin American markets, Corum will work either with a local distributor or with the major retailers.

From Admiral’s Cup Tourbillon Minute Repeater to Admiral’s Cup Tides, from Ti-Bridge to Golden Bridge Tourbillon, Corum is now perceived as a high-end watchmaking company with strong, complicated and technical models which have returned to the select haute horlogerie circle.

René Bannwart

La Chaux-de-Fonds, January 13, 2010
At a time when the brand celebrates several anniversaries, its founding father, René Bannwart, bows out. In the privacy of his family and to respect his wishes, a final tribute was paid to him in La Chaux-de-Fonds on Friday, January 15, 2010. The story of a discreet entrepreneur with a confirmed creative talent.

Born March 16, 1915 in Zurich, René Bannwart spent his childhood in Basel before heading to Geneva to study at the Business School, where he developed his passion for business.

With watchmaking experience acquired from the most prestigious watch manufacturers, René Bannwart began his professional adventure at Patek Philippe in 1933 before joining Omega in 1940, where he established the first creative department and launched watch models which still today remain the talking pieces of the brand. During his 15 years at Omega, he strengthened his expertise in watchmaking and with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a will to create his own watches, he founded Corum in 1955 with his uncle Gaston Ries. In 1958, he had his first success with the “Sans Heures” model where time was indicated only by the hands on the dial. In 1966, a new interpretation of this model is embodied within the Romvlvs model (today one of the 4 key pillar of Corum) whose hours in Roman numerals are engraved on the bezel.

René Bannwart known for his humanist and aesthetic values has been able to reach his ambition by creating a company that shines today in the constellation of Haute Horlogerie. He leaves behind him as much a reputation of beautiful human as that of a part of watchmaking history. Passionate and generous, he earned the trust and deep respect of his colleagues, clients and employees by building lasting friendships and sincere relationships.
True to the golden rule used in creation, he was known for his sense of detail and artistic qualities. The strong creativity instilled by René Bannwart to Corum, has been expressed throughout its history with many outstanding creations.

In 1958, launch of the Golden Tube model, a tube of gold in which the movement is inserted. This creation is behind the famous Golden Bridge model (1980), the first baguette movement that symbolizes the technical and watchmaking mastery of Corum and now part of the CORUM BRIDGES pillar.

In 1960, the first interpretation of the “Admiral’s Cup” model with a square case was developed. This was the first ever water-resistant square watch. In 1983, the famous Admiral’s Cup was reinterpreted in its emblematic design version (twelve-sided bezel, 12 nautical pennants) helping it to become the leading model of the brand.

In 1964, the “Coin Watch”, without a back cover, was created with an ultra-flat movement that is set in an authentic gold coin, a $20 Double Eagle Coin. The model has been worn by numerous U.S. Presidents and prominent civilians alike. A timepiece that sparkles in the ARTISANS collection.

Watchmaking history and watch aficionados will also remember the feathers dial (1970), the Rolls-Royce model (1976),pioneering the way to partnerships with prestigious car manufacturing brands, as well as the meteorite dials (1986) and the Tabogan watch (1997), whose ingenious mechanism allowed the watch to be turned into a table clock, and which has been patented.

In 2010, Corum celebrates its 55th anniversary and celebrates a half century of the Admiral’s Cup collection, whose iconic design was created by Rene’s son, Jean-René Bannwart; as well as 30 years of the Golden Bridge. This heritage, which was founded in the heart and skill of one man, René Bannwart, has provided to the brand with deep and solid roots and has been revived by its current CEO Antonio Calce, who has returned to the fundamental strategy of the brand since his arrival in 2005.

Antonio Calce, CEO of Corum, spoke of the human qualities and the talent of René Bannwart: “Today marks the end of a chapter for the Corum history. I have deep respect and admiration for René Bannwart, a man who wrote a chapter in the history of watchmaking and has created a brand with a strong credibility and legitimacy in creation while adding sophisticated technical and watchmaking content. Through his work, skill and motivation, René Bannwart brought Corum to the top of the watchmaking art in the 80’s. By instilling a powerful creative identity, he strongly anchored the brand DNA providing strong roots and enhancing its reputation. I am so honored to continue to lead Corum on the path of success and especially to develop its potential. The Wunderman family and the Corum family join me to convey their most sincere thoughts to his son Jean-René Bannwart and his wife Grischka, his family and loved ones”.

An exceptional timepiece for the 50th anniversary of an iconic collection

For half a century the Admiral’s Cup collection has paid tribute to marine and sea enthusiasts. To celebrate this legendary model’s fiftieth anniversary, Corum has chosen to associate to this eminently sporty watch with an exceptional movement combining two of the most prestigious horological complications: The tourbillon and the minute repeater.

The use of a minute repeater in a watch with marine connotation is not a common feature, however this complication concentrates the strength of two universes, as life on a boat is governed by night and day with ringing bells. From ‘action stations’ in the morning to the evening ring, and even during attention to colors, it is a sailor’s life that is punctuated by these ringing tones. Integrating a minute repeater in an Admiral’s Cup is therefore a way for Corum to pay tribute to the universal connection to this iconic watch.

Another way to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary with great dignity is to propose a new horological achievement: the CO 010 caliber. The development and adjustment of this exceptional movement took two entire years for which Corum required the participation of a dozen of its best watch-making craftsmen.

Each of the components were conceived and developed to guarantee the precision and beauty of the tone by considering its « power » (expressed in decibels), its « precision» (note correctness), its richness (expressed in number of partials) and its «reverberation » (duration of each note). The minutes-rack, placed at the heart of the ringing mechanism, is inverted compared to traditional minute repeaters in order to bring strength and precision to each note. It has also been enlarged to permit a wider lift angle to each tooth, extending the time between notes. The racks hitting the gongs are made out of ultra resistant and hardened steel. Fixed to these racks, countersprings have been specially conceived to find the best balance of the hitting strength and speed.

During the ringing, the rhythm is regulated through the rotation of an inertial flywheel, visible on the movement’s back. The gongs, manufactured from an alloy featuring a composition and thermal treatment that are a closely guarded secret, have been adjusted to strike the hours with an A note and minutes with a C sharp note. These two notes have not been chosen randomly, their specific sequence forms a major third (two tones) with a more cheerful harmony than a minor third (one and a half tones). The precision of the whole mechanism is guaranteed through a Tourbillon with Silicium escapement and pallets offering reliability and durability.

Visible complexity

The result of these intense years of craftsmanship is a micromechanical masterpiece of 14¼’’’ – with a diameter of 32 mm – and a thickness of only 5.35 mm, which ensures a hand-wound power reserve of 72 hours. The finishing was also the object of attention: each surface has been finished by hand; circular-grained components, black polished steels – in particular the strike-hammers and Tourbillon Bridge – circular-grained decoration of the plate and Côtes de Genève finish of the bottom bridges.

The creativity and care which have prevailed over the conception of the caliber CO 010 are again found in the external design of this Admiral’s Cup Minute Repeater Tourbillon 45. In order to specifically highlight the movement behind it, Corum replaced the dial with a smoked PVD treated sapphire glass allowing the wearer to admire the extreme complexity of the minute repeater and Tourbillon mechanisms. Its grey colored treatment, outlined with monochromatic nautical flags on the fitted flange, confers elegant sobriety to this timepiece. On that same sapphire glass engraved in golden writing are «Corum », « Minute Repeater » and « Tourbillon » as well as golden index chevrons and minute numbers. The 45 mm diameter case in 18kt red gold is immediately recognizable thanks to its legendary polished and satin finished twelve-sided bezel.

Ingenious winding

This jubilee model has a bezel containing a hidden winding function. For such a sporty model it was indeed too risky to have the minute repeater’s push-piece extending out which might get caught and potentially damage the mechanism. The Admiral’s Cup Minute Repeater Tourbillon 45 has therefore been manufactured with a specific bezel which winds the minute repeater function by rotating the bezel 27 degrees clockwise. Keeping the pureness of the case line and the integrity of the ringing mechanism, this ingenious system offers water-resistance up to 3 atm. Knowing that more than 140 hours are necessary for a Master Watch-Maker to assemble the movement’s 319 components, with an additional 10 hours to ensure perfect sound and notes, there is no need to specify that this Admiral’s Cup Minute Repeater Tourbillon 45 will be manufactured in very small quantities: only ten pieces will be produced in our workshops through the end of 2010.

With the Golden Bridge Lady, CORUM introduces a splendid and original interpretation of its legendary model. For the very first time, the famous mechanical hand-wound “baguette” movement is positioned horizontally in the case, delicately engraved to provide a stunning panoramic vision of the gear trains in motion.

Its mainplate and bridges are crafted in 18K gold and topped by two black openworked hour and minute hands. The case of the new Golden Bridge Lady provides a splendid gold, diamond and sapphire stage-setting for the fabulous caliber. The contemporary-sized (41 x 34 mm) case of the Golden Bridge Lady, available in a choice of 18K red or white gold, is graced with perfect proportions well suited to dainty feminine wrists.

The curving case band is set with 108 diamonds, accentuating the precious appearance of this exceptional timepiece. The ethereal vision of the movement nestling inside the case is enhanced by two horizontal flanges arranged on either side of the sapphire crystal case-back and set with 72 diamonds. Thus framing the movement like a genuine work of art, they further magnify the radiance and elegance of the exquisite Golden Bridge Lady.

This epitome of elegance reserved exclusively for women as its name implies, sparkles with more than 2.5 carats of precious stones. The case is water-resistant to 30 meters and fitted with sapphire crystals on the front and back, both treated with an anti-reflective coating, while the crown is set with a white mother-of-pearl applique. The genuine crocodile leather strap comes in white for the red gold model and black for the white gold version, secured by a gold pin buckle. Due to their sheer complexity and exquisitely delicate gem-setting, only a few Golden Bridge Lady watches are to be produced each year.

Among a selection of forty timepieces, which had already been chosen from a first round selection of more than a hundred novelties launched on the Swiss market between September 2008 and December 2009, the jury has awarded our Ti-Bridge with the Second Prize for the Watch of the Year 2009 award. This competition, organized by Ringier Romandie and Montres Passion magazine, is an essential event of the watch sector. Elected under conditions of total impartiality by renowned jury members, made up of professionals from the watchmaking industry, the Ti-Bridge confirms its reputation in the watchmaking world. Beside Vacheron Constantin’s model «Historiques American 1921», the First Prize winner, the Ti-Bridge stands out among the major references.

The award ceremony of the Watch of Year 2009 event took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva yesterday. Antonio Calce, in his capacity as CEO, received this prize before an audience consisting of 500 personalities from the Swiss watchmaking industry. He declared with satisfaction and emotion: “I am pleased to receive this award which reflects the pride in my teams, whose talent contributes to the value of Corum today. The Ti-Bridge perfectly embodies the philosophy of Corum; creativity, design and high watch-making content. This timepiece opens a new chapter in the already rich history of the company.”

This award is an important acknowledgment for our brand and a recognition of the repositioning strategy initiated in 2005. With the exclusive caliber designed, developed and assembled in-house and encased in the Ti-Bridge, Corum confirms its watchmaking expertise in high-end movements.

CORUM ends the year on a high note and unveils four exceptional timepieces for the Holiday celebrations. They illustrate CORUM’s long-term work to acquire expertise in high-end watch
movements. Two of them are equipped with a high complication, the tourbillon, while the two other capitalize on a modern and technical material, titanium.

Enhancing the Corum Bridges and Romvlvs collections, which together with the Admiral’s Cup and Artisans lines represent the four CORUM pillars, the Swiss Watchmaker reveals four outstanding timepieces.

Looking back on its history and renewing ties with its roots, CORUM has revived its fundamentals and rebuilt its product strategy following a clear structure based on the four iconic pillars. The development of human relations, devoting particular attention to the integration of watchmaking professions, technical skills and product development have led to an exceptionally creative year for CORUM.

The color of understated elegance, CORUM dresses its new timepieces in black for the Holiday season. Cases, dials, movements; all components wear a sober coating for the most glamorous evenings. Two titanium timepieces are presented in an all-black look.

CORUM Ti-Bridge Movement Frontview

Black Ti-Bridge

A pure black experience! The now famous Ti-Bridge comes dressed in black for the festive end-of-year season. In both its movement and case, the Ti-Bridge gives pride of place to titanium, a material known for its lightness and the difficulties involved in machining it. The bridges and plate of the Caliber CO 007 are cut from this ultramodern material. The meticulous finishing on all movements is typified by the upper bridge coated with black
PVD and engraved with the “CORUM” brand name. The bridges are satin-finished, while the generously sized barrel features a snailed finish. Equipped with a balance oscillating at the speed of 4 Hz, Caliber CO 007 is endowed with a 72-hour power reserve. Pushing the boundaries of technicality and aesthetics, CORUM developed a unique way to attach the movement to the case with four triangles replacing the casing clamps.

The curved tonneau-shaped case made of titanium ensures perfect comfort for the wearer. Entirely coated with black PVD, the dark monochrome watch case gives a contemporary touch to the Black Ti-Bridge.

As a technically exceptional creation, the Black Ti-Bridge will be produced in a Limited Edition of 250 pieces.

CORUM Golden Bridge Black Titanium

Golden Bridge Black Titanium

The Golden Bridge collection is enriched with a black PVD coated titanium model, marrying the delicate case conception cut from transparent sapphire crystal with the strength of the titanium, also known for its lightweight properties. In this timepiece, modernity and technicality of the titanium case responds to the classicism and finesse of the authentic baguette movement.

Challenging the limits of technicality, CORUM features titanium Grade 5 for the watch case as it is the most difficult to manufacture, but also the only grade which offers different polishing designs.

The Golden Bridge Black Titanium stems from the talent and precision skills of the watchmaking artisans to conceive this hand-wound linear movement bearing a 40-hour power reserve.

The deep black satin-finished case highlights the golden reflections of the emblematic hand-engraved movement. Its mainplate and bridges are crafted in 18kt gold and topped by two black openworked hour and minute hands.

With this model CORUM reinvents timelessness while combining modern and authentic spirit in one timepiece. The Golden Bridge Black Titanium will be produced in a Limited Edition of 138 pieces.

A masterly mechanism, the tourbillon is still the most coveted high complication in Haute Horlogerie. It was created in 1801 by Abraham-Louis Breguet and only began to appear in wristwatches in the 1980s. The role of the tourbillon, originally created for pocket watches, is to eliminate the disruptive effects of gravity on the regulatory organ of the movement. CORUM unveils two striking timepieces which house this famous complication.

CORUM Golden Tourbillon Panoramique Grey Sapphire

Golden Tourbillon Panoramique Grey Sapphire

Reinterpreting transparency, characteristic of CORUM since 2007, the brand presents a Golden Tourbillon Panoramique with grey PVD coated sapphire crystals.

Endowed with a 90-hour power reserve, this tourbillon set on a sapphire crystal throne is a truly exceptional creation. The mainplate and the three bridges are made of sapphire crystal, a very delicate and brittle material. The slightly grey color of the sapphire crystal partly reveals the mystery of the conception and accentuates the strength of the timepiece. Four sapphire crystal glasses offer the maximum view of this stunning movement
beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour.

Framing the movement like a genuine work of art, the white gold case is set with 309 diamonds, accentuating the precious appearance of this exceptional timepiece.

Manufacturing the Golden Tourbillon Panoramique Grey Sapphire calls for extreme precision and high-end watchmaking knowledge, a CORUM signature available in a Limited Edition of 5 pieces.

CORUM Romvlvs Tourbillon

Romvlvs Tourbillon

Originally created in 1966, the Romvlvs collection is imbued with authentic classicism and hosts the finest watchmaking complications. In 2008, CORUM launched a Perpetual Calendar and a Retrograde Annual Calendar.

This year CORUM unveils a new high complication in the collection, the Romvlvs Tourbillon. At the heart of the timepiece beats a mechanical hand-wound tourbillon movement at the speed of 21,600 vibrations per hour endowed with a long lasting power reserve of 130 hours.

The absence of dial reveals the beauty of the black PVD coated movement. Bottom plate and bridges are graced with Côtes de Genève finish, enhancing the classical elegance of this exclusive timepiece. The sun-brushed and PVD coated ratchet and crown wheels demonstrate CORUM’s traditional watchmaking know-how.

As a signature of the collection, the hours are translated into Roman numerals engraved on the bezel. With a Limited Edition of 10 pieces, this timepiece will be worn among the rare privileged owners only.
