<h4>It’s all in the design</h4>
<p>The Oris TT3 is back – with a vengeance and it’s ready to wipe the track with other motor sports watches.  Excited by the Type 997 Porsche cars driven in competition by Darryl O’Young, the PCCA Double Class A Champion, Oris has designed two watches with a cool, sporty and technical look. Each model is limited to 997 units – a nod to the Type 997 Porsches.</p>
<p>Influenced by the technical features on the awesome Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and the 911 GT3 Cup, both sizes of watch (43.50 mm and 41.00 mm) guarantee maximum wearer comfort.  The curved cases are black DLC coated for durability as well as added style.  The sporty rubber strap with its flexible lugs ensures a snug fit on the wrist.</p>
<p>The unusual glass dial is printed with a wheel rim pattern and offers a glimpse of the quality automatic mechanical movement, as well as the calendar date wheel.  This creates an eye-catching 3D layered dial effect. The Superluminova numerals on the dial are the same Microgramma typeface as used on the Porsche cars.</p>
<p>Seeing the quality Oris mechanical movement as the individual pieces move and turn is like watching Darryl as he drives around the track: smooth, controlled and dynamic.</p>

This was not only the world premiere of the new collection that combines tradition and innovation – it also marked the first official appearance of Zhang Ziyi as the newest member of the OMEGA family of brand ambassadors. <h4>Zhang Ziyi visits OMEGA SOGO Flagship Store, experiences watchmaking</h4>
<p>At 2 p.m. the president of OMEGA, Stephen Urquhart, gave Zhang Ziyi a tour of OMEGA’s new Corporate Flagship Store located on 1F at Shanghai SOGO Department Store.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, during the photo shoot for OMEGA’s new Constellation advertising campaign, Zhang Ziyi expressed her strong interest in watchmaking technology. Today, in the OMEGA store, she spent time at the watchmakers’ bench, placing some components in a movement with the professional guidance of an OMEGA watchmaker.</p>
<p>Later, Urquhart presented Zhang Ziyi with a new Constellation watch and invited her to autograph the watch box before locking it up in the transparent safe. This watch will become a splendid Constellation dream come true for the luckiest guest: thousands of VIP customers will be invited to the OMEGA Corporate Flagship Store to draw the lucky key which will open the safe. The key holder will become the owner of the magnificent Constellation watch.</p>

<h4>Constellation Shined Shanghai Concert Hall</h4>
<p>At 5  p.m. the New OMEGA Constellation Launch Event was held in Shanghai Concert Hall.</p>
<p>Shanghai Concert Hall boasts European classic exterior design style with nearly 80 years of history, making it the perfect place to present the OMEGA Constellation Collection. A huge poster of Zhang Ziyi’s new advertising image was hung on the exterior wall of Shanghai Concert Hall, presenting the new OMEGA Constellation 2009 Collection on the wrist of the stunning actress. The fleeting moment captured through a lens by top fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti made a powerful impression on the almost 400 guests who saw the image at the hall’s entrance.</p>
<p>The launch event started auspiciously with the performance of the theme &#8220;Bell at Dawn, Drum at Dusk”. The large screen displayed a magical vision of chaos transformed into bright peace through time-lapsed images of the universe and the alternating appearance of the sun and the moon. Countless stars drew beautiful arcs in the vast expanse of the sky and slowly gathered to form one constellation after another.</p>

<p>Hang Zhou, 25 July 2009 – For Swiss watchmaker Hublot , there are today so many reasons to organise an event in China: the opening of their shop in Hang Zhou, the launch of the second edit ion of the Red Devil Bang, together with the Manchester United team and, last but not least, the opportunity to make a gesture in support of the HOPE Foundation, through a one million $ challenge.</p>
<p>Hublot is continuing its activity in the Chinese market with an event which turned out to be both spectacular and generous. The watchmaking brand has invited several of the best Red Devils players to take up a challenge that would test even the most finely-honed shooting skills. This has taken place on the same day as the opening ceremony of their first shop in Hang Zhou at the prestigious department store “Hang Zhou Tower”. The aim was for Paul Scholes, Ji-Sung Park, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra to shoot the ball from the shore of the &#8220;West Lake&#8221; into a target placed 16 metres away, on a boat. For each goal scored, Hublot promised to donate the sum of $250,000 to the HOPE Foundation, a notfor-profit organisation who raises funds to help children in China and Hong Kong, by setting up education programs (<a href="http://www.hope-ef.org">www.hope-ef.org</a>). Jean-Claude Biver, Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill, CEO of Manchester United, were there to cheer on the four players! In a festive spirit, the enthusiastic players finally couldn’t make it, even though Rio Ferdinand hit the target board very close to the hole. Sir Alex Ferguson couldn’t resist to make an attempt himself – wearing his “every day” shoes ! -, and his legendary talent didn’t lie as he was the one who kicked the closest to the goal ! David Gill also tried, and then Jean-Claude Biver, after a attempt on the grass, boarded on a boat to bring symbolically the ball in the hole and to offer the Foundation $10’000, in addition to the 100’000 promised. The cheque was donated to the famous founders and representatives of Hope Foundation, the actress Miss Lee Xing Jie and the singer Miss Xu Ru Yun.</p>
<p>After a committed season of cooperation and partnership, Hublot and the Red Devils used this event to present a new edition of the Big Bang in the colours of the reigning English champions. With a 45 minute counter at 9 o&#8217;clock, the &#8220;Red Devil&#8221; logo at 3 o&#8217;clock, and a new rose gold case fitted on a rubber Alligator strap, the series is limited to just 99 pieces!</p>
<p>This new model will delight fans of both Manchester United and Big Bang with its sporty yet sophisticated appeal.</p>

<p>The world of high complication watchmaking and belle horlogerie have married the technical expertise of a master watchmaker with the artistry of a miniaturist painter to produce a unique, one-off masterpiece. The mechanical prowess and poetry in motion of the gyrating tourbillon is enhanced with a miniature painting of sublime Oriental charm, an exceptional and highly original work of art.</p>
<p>Miniature painting is still practiced by an elite group of artisans, master craftsmen whose vir tuosity is still alive today in a tradition that can be traced to 14th century Persia. With the expansion of the Mongol Empire, the mastery of miniature painting spread to India and the powerful courts of the Mughal emperors. Mughal painting flourished in the mid-16th century with precious works of art whose colours and exquisite detail are still vibrant today.</p>
<p>In Europe miniature painting developed from the art of illuminating manuscripts and was practiced extensively throughout the Middle Ages. By the 1520’s the courts of France and England commissioned miniaturists to create portraits of their loved ones and following the flight of the Huguenots from France in the 17th century, the tradition of miniature painting found a new home in Geneva making its way onto watch dials and cases in the sumptuous tradition of haute horlogerie.</p>
<p>Jean Dunand, the Swiss artist whose work embodied the spirit of the Art Déco period and whose fascination and appreciation of Oriental art was made patent in his repertoire, is the inspiration and guiding light behind the Jean Dunand watch brand.</p>
<p>Jean Dunand’s passion for the Orient is recreated today in this miniature line portrait of Confucius, hand-painted on a very thin black onyx dial that has been inserted on top of a gold disk.</p>
<p>The Chinese philosopher, renowned for his teachings that revolved around the personal virtues of benevolence, charity, jen-humanity, reciprocity and the importance of ancestor worship, was born to a family of the lesser aristocracy in 551 B.C.</p>
<p>Confucius set about to bring order and peace to a divided nation of feudal states and following unsuccessful attempts to secure a patron, turned his attention to the teaching of young men. Following a fruitful and selfless life, Confucius died peacefully at the age of 72. Upon his death in 479 B.C., Master Kong, or Confucius, was buried just north of the city of Qufu and his disciples planted trees from all over China in his honour. The Kong Lin forest is the world’s oldest and largest private family cemetery and is the resting place for 76 generations of the Kong family, an amazing example of ancestral perpetuity that has never been matched by any other imperial or royal house.</p>
<p>Jean Dunand’s mechanical wonder celebrates the enduring Confucian legacy and has entrusted the meticulous travail of painting a miniature line portrait on the diminutive onyx surface to the capable hands of one single craftsman; the only artist in Switzerland capable of executing the demanding task. Countless hours of manual labour and fifteen kiln firings have been invested in this miniature.</p>
<p>The first challenge for Jean Dunand’s miniaturist is to reinterpret the original rectangular drawing onto the round surface of the onyx and a grid is used to plot the picture. Using top quality Swiss varnishes, the artisan blends his colour palette before undertaking the artistic odyssey where steady hands, keen eyes and patience are called upon, vital prerequisites that pay homage to the Confucian adage that “Impatience over little things introduces confusion into great schemes”.</p>
<p>Because of the delicacy and precision required, the artist handcrafts his paintbrushes from marten hair, often employing only a wisp of twenty odd hairs. Working from the face outwards with the aid of a binocular microscope, the ar tist applies the colours often repeating a stroke to increase volume that can be appreciated on Confucius’ beard or drawing out the stroke to achieve the nuance and gradation to render the curve of Confucius’ forehead.</p>
<p>Each painting session is followed by a stint in a 90-100° C kiln culminating in a final kiln firing of 6-7 hours.</p>
<p>The final result, a mere 3/100ths of a millimeter thick, is proof positive that complication and ornamentation, exceptional technology and consummate artistry do indeed produce remarkable results.</p>

<h4>Human relationship at the heart of Gebson</h4>
<p>This new brand has been founded in 2007. It is part of the Geb Group Ltd that belongs to a family renowned since three generations for its most complex watch cases. The idea to create an independent brand emerged from several private clients and collectors who asked for exceptional and highly emotional timepieces. The sales of these überpremium wristwatches – either unique pieces or limited editions of a maximum of 8 watches – mainly occur between the brand and its exclusive customers, without intermediaries.</p>
<h4>Between Art and Technique</h4>
<p>Gebson’s creations gather local artistic references, cultural symbolisms, and historical traditions. For its first collection, the brand has drawn inspiration from the Chinese culture with its more than 5000 years of history. Mixing the ancestral crafting techniques of “champlevé” enamel (a gold dial plate engraved by hand and decorated with enamel) or of enamel painting with highly skilled gem setting techniques (diamonds, sapphires, garnets, and other coloured precious gems) and different precious materials (white gold, rose gold), these timepieces, moved by Swiss automatic movements, are made to seduce art lovers who aspire to carry a mechanical wristwatch made in the purest Swiss watch-making traditions.</p>

To communicate that this famous movie star and Taiwanese native is one of the ambassadors for the brand, Frederique Constant created a full new advertising campaign.</p>
